From the age of six, Bella has been classically trained in piano and completed all ABRSM grades by the age of 18. The piano expanded Bella’s understanding of musical theory and practice inspiring her to learn other instruments such as the guitar and harp.

Despite being classically trained, Bella began secretly teaching herself boogie-woogie piano from the age of 7 without her teacher’s knowledge – which then lead to her love of jazz and blues music and eventually Bella ended up becoming the leading jazz singer for the Royal Holloway Big Band at University.

The piano is a fantastic instrument for discovering music of all types, and also expanding musical knowledge. The piano provides the perfect introduction for musical understanding, which is vital for the understanding of music theory and practice.
